I am a queer artist, musician and educator from a working class background born in Halifax and living in London. Thematically my work dives into the gap between being and appearing, exploring the complexity of performing in the everyday while abandoning the distinction between high/low culture. I work predominantly with video, sound and performance but I've been known to dabble elsewhere. I am a popstar, a composer, a conductor, a drag queen, a costume designer, a director, a graphic designer and a videographer. I can do anything, and so can you.
As a great believer in the power of generosity I am a frequent collaborator with a deep awareness and care for my audience. As an educator my pedagogy revolves around centring joy, enthusiasm and friendship within an art practice. I have an MA in Moving Image (2017) and a PGCert in Art and Design Education (2019) from the Royal College of Art and a BA in Fine Art (2011) from Chelsea College of Art and Design.
I currently teach at Chelsea College of Art and Design on the BA Fine Art course as an Associate Lecturer, having previously taught on the BA Fine Art course at Bath Spa University, BA Popular Music at Goldsmiths University and on the Graduate Diploma and MA Digital Direction programmes at the RCA.
