M.O.R.E Consumption

Picture
Ingrid Vestor & Victor Gator act as avatars to approach grandeous topics that the two artists Benji Jeffrey & Keira Greene are not comfortable to address head-on. Ingrid & Victor, however, do not have a heightened consciousness for their audience, they are more concerned with tackling the facts.
In their naive quest to stay on topic, humour emerges from their inability to edit out that which is perhaps irrelevant, leading the viewer to detangle their intentions.

Previously Ingrid & Victor conducted an investigation that they considered of global concern, the seepage of WEST throughout culture and politics.

They focus upon semiotics, whereby the terminology associated with a single word is the nucleus by which they draw in their research. For this recent investigation of global concern, the nucleus for magnetism is CONSUMPTION.

For WEST Ingrid & Victor presented their research as a broadcast direct from a purpose built television studio, a nod towards the initial dissemination of information during westward expansion. For CONSUMPTION they decided to host a dinner party to use this analogy of literal consumption to frame their wider concerns.

Organised for the evening of the 15th December 2012 at Inland Studios, Ingrid & Victor were said to have presented their research on CONSUMPTION and its escalation throughout society to the Ministry of Regulated Excess, M.O.R.E.

On the 16th December 2012 the remnants of this dinner party were exhibited at Inland studios, along with the dossier compiled by Ingrid & Victor for M.O.R.E.

The following excerpt was one of several recordings made on the night of the dinner party and exhibited the following day.
